Fearful Dog Training

by Lionel1 on November 28, 2009

overcoming fear. watch the dog go from nervous to relaxed within the hour session. you can see his tail tucked way under his belly, then up in the middle, where it should be. Great training, excellent confident body language, but it looks like the ‘before’ behaviours are all on a flack buckle collar, and then he is switched to a prong collar to do the training and maintaining. Prongs are excellent tools when properly instructed to use them.

And btw… Nothing wrong with knocking a dog out of your way with your knee… most dogs would not think twice about knocking you over or jumping up to get what they want.

Looks like you just wore him out. What’s with the knee in his chest while going in the door!? That’s pretty mean.

i have an american staff who will be three yrs old in oct…he displays the same fear based character traits as the dog in this video….i am using a choker chain and short leash, and i notice he displays a little less tension…i am doing lots of study on how to train my dog to become less fearful and more at ease…thanx for this video
